Mid States Asphalt

Since 1985, Mid-States asphalt has
supplied roofing asphalt throughout the
southern United States, shipping
thousands of tons annually from it’s
Alabama facilities. Mid-States consistent
source of asphalt assures buyers of
uniform quality. You can be sure it's
consistent because every batch of
Mid-States asphalt is tested at the
refinery and again at our own labs to
guarantee it's quality. All grades and
types of Mid-States asphalt meet or exceed
the physical requirements of ASTM
D312-95a.
Quik-Melt Asphalt has been
helping contractors around the country
save time and money while providing a
safer working environment for their
roofers. Our proven method of packaging
traditional roofing asphalt in an easy to
handle 50 lb brick has changed the way
many top contractors view and estimate
their BUR projects.
Mid-States Asphalt manufactures a
full line of tapered insulation panels,
cant strip and tapered edge strip.Mid-States
tapered insulation is used in a wide
variety of built-up roofing (BUR) and
single ply roofing applications to help
create positive drainage and prevent water
from ponding. While 1/2", 1/4"
& 1/8" slopes are standard,
special inclines are also available.
Mid-States tapered insulation is available
for most warranted jobs. |

Tamko has over fifty years of experience as a roofing materials manufacturer. Tamko's Awaflex is a lightweight and flexible SBS modified cap sheet. It is used as a roofing membrane for Series 1000 specifications. It can also be used in select Tamko flashing details. It is applied by mopping in hot asphalt or approved cold adhesives. Awaflex benefits include:
- Puncture and tear resistance
- Excellent cold weather performance
- Ten year limited material warranty
- It can be applied using a cold or hot process
Awaflex meets the Underwriters Laboratories Classified standard ASTM D-5147.

BITEC, Inc. specializes in Modified Bitumen membranes for waterproofing and roofing.
With over fifty years of combined development and manufacturing experience, BITEC is dedicated to providing contractors, building owners, and architects with quality membrane roofing products.
Bitec provides the Imperflex SBS Underlayment. This self-adhering membrane has a peel off backing for easy installation and is used for:
- Residential waterproofing at eaves and valleys
- Waterproofing for foundations, footings, and basements
- Extra waterproofing under metal roofs.
Imperflex is extremely durable. It is slide resistant and self-sealing. It also prevents leaking and water infiltration due to ice build up. This membrane meets the Underwriters Laboratories Classified standard ASTM D-1970.
