Before you select a fertilizer, determine your needs. Then select a fertilizer containing the necessary elements to accomplish your goals.
- Nitrogen (N) is used in tree and shrub fertilizers to promote healthy top growth. The Nitrogen helps produce hardy leafs with rich, green color. If your shrub is a flowering plant, the Nitrogen also increases the health of your blooms.
- Phosphate is used to establish a healthy root system. You should use a tree and shrub fertilizer with higher levels of Phosphate when you’ve planted new shrubbery or trees, or moved them.
- Potassium creates a hardy root system and plant. Use a fertilizer high in Potassium to help your plants withstand harsh environments, diseases, and insect/parasite attacks.
- Tree and shrub fertilizers may contain
Manganese. Manganese is used for carbon dioxide absorption and photosynthesis. It helps prevent discoloration and frizzled leafs in palm type trees.
Palm and Ixora contains extra Magnesium and Manganese to promote healthy, deep green color in palms and ixoras. A complete blend of other micronutrients assures a nutritional balance for vigorous plant growth. Palm and Ixora is available in five-pound, ten-pound, and twenty-pound bags.
Manganese Sulphate is used to counteract manganese deficiencies in palms and ixoras. It prevents frizzled leafs while promoting growth. Manganese Sulphate is available in five-pound and twenty-pound bags.
Citrus Fertilizer contains a special blend of Magnesium, Manganese, and Copper. The Manganese aids in photosynthesis for healthy leafs. The extra copper prevents buds from dying, thus increasing the amount of fruit produced. Citrus Fertilizer is available in five-pound and 44-pound bags.
Palm Fertilizer is a specialty fertilizer used for almost all palms and ixoras. Palm Fertilizer is available in five-pound bags.
