Insects respond differently to each pesticide type. Before applying a pesticide, it is important to know the type of insect you’re trying to eliminate. Using the wrong pesticide may not eliminate, or even significantly reduce, the problem.
Pesticides come in two basic types: broad spectrum and limited usage.
- Broad spectrum insecticides and pesticides control a wide range of insects and parasites.
- Limited usage insecticides control only a specific type of insect or parasite. Using this type of pesticide incorrectly will not eliminate the problem, and may harm healthy plants.

Diazinon is a broad spectrum pesticide. It is used to control a wide range of insects and parasites. Diazinon is most effective when used on vegetables, ornamentals, or lawns. It is available in pint and gallon sizes.
Bugs Beware comes is a concentrated pesticide for indoor pest control. It comes in a 7.5-ounce bottle which, when mixed with water, makes one gallon of pesticide.
Malathion is a reliable, premium grade pesticide in liquid form. Spray it in your gardens to control aphids, worms, mosquitoes, and other insects. It is available in eight-ounce, pint, quart, and gallon sizes.
Molecrickets can destroy your turf or lawn. Molecricket Bait contains Chloropyrifos. It is a granular pesticide specifically formulated to kill molecrickets without harming your lawn. It is available in four-pound bags. Each bag covers 1,100 square feet.
Household Roach and Ant Spray controls most household pests. These include ants, roaches, spiders, ticks, silverfish, and scorpions. It is available in gallon sizes.
Chinch bugs, webworms, army worms, and other lawn insects can destroy your lawn or turf.
Chinch Bug Spray is a liquid pesticide specifically formulated to control lawn insects. It is available in one-gallon implements. Each gallon covers up to 6,400 square feet.
Term-Out is an aerosol spray available in thirteen-ounce increments. It is specifically formulated to control termites, roaches, and ants. A fourteen-inch flexible plastic extension with a metal injector tip is provided to apply the pesticide.
Ultra Fine is an oil pesticide that makes up to 25 gallons of spray. This chemical can be used year-round to kill insects on landscape plants, houseplants, garden vegetables, and fruit trees.
Ironite is available in granular or liquid form. It is used for healthier, greener plants. Ironite develops stronger root systems that help the plant fight minor diseases and insect infestations. It is available in five-pound boxes, twenty five-pound bags, and thirty two-ounce liquid concentrate.
Chinch bugs, sod webworms, ants, fleas, and ticks can destroy your lawn or turf and be a nuisance to people and pets.
Chlorpfrifos 2E Lawn and Ornamental Insect Spray is a liquid pesticide specifically formulated to control lawn insects. It is available in one-pint implements. Each pint covers up to 10,700 square feet.
Citrus Spray controls tea scale, snow scale, and scale insects on citrus trees and ornamental plants. It also helps remove sooty mold. It is available in one-pint bottles.
Sevin® Insect Spray is a broad spectrum spray. It has a low toxicity level for animals and humans when used as directed. It is available in pint and quart sizes.
